David Berman of Silver Jews is back after 10+ years of hibernation with his new project Purple Mountains. He's just shared the second track from the first Purple Mountains album, "Darkness and Cold," a countrified tale of "the light of my life is going out tonight" without him, "without a flicker of regret." Watch the video for the song below.

David made the album, which is out July 12 via Drag City, with Jeremy and Jarvis of Woods who will also be part of the band when they tour this summer, starting at Huichica East festival.
