In the wake of Prince‘s death there are unsurprisingly lots of tribute nights that have been announced in the last few days, including his famed backing band The Revolution getting back together for shows. While we wait on details of that, there are a few tributes in NYC coming up.

Tonight (4/26) at The Delancey is a “Live Art Tribute to Prince” with artists making paintings on-the-spot, with DJ’s spin Prince and related music. More info here.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric L Adams is presenting “A Celebration of Prince” in Fort Greene Park on Friday, April 29 that includes a dance party and a screening of Purple Rain. The DJs start at 5 PM and the screening is at 8 PM. Free.

Also Friday: “Lola Star’s Dreamland Roller Disco Tribute to Prince” which happens at Lakeside Brooklyn starting at 8 PM. More info here.

On Saturday, May 7 at Rough Trade its “Dance Music Sex Romance: A Prince Video Dance Party In Tribute”:

Come pay homage & celebrate the purple reign of His Royal Badness with Prince’s funkiest music videos on the dance floor all night. Join us as we kiss, cream, gett off, go crazy — and even Batdance. We’ll be spotlighting all of Prince’s visual brilliance – from the underwear-and-trenchcoat look of “Dirty Mind” to the full purple party of “1999” to the bathtub crawl of “When Doves Cry” to the bare-ass daring of “Gett Off” to the split personality of “Batdance”, and so much more.

Maybe they’ve even got a copy of the great (and woefully out-of-print) Sign O’ the Times concert film. Tickets are on sale.

Cake Shop is putting together “A joyous million bands tribute to Prince Rogers Nelson” on May 13. As the name implies, it’ll be a whole bunch of bands covering Prince. Cake Shop’s Andy Bodor is one of the biggest Prince fans I know, and previous events like this have been a lot of fun. It’s also free. If you’re interested in playing this, get in touch via Facebook.

And while not a Prince tribute, Starchild & The New Romantic are admitted Prince devotees, and play Wednesday, April 27. I wouldn’t be surprised if they included a Prince cover in their set. Tickets are on sale.

UPDATE (5/3): There’s a jam band tribute to Prince with members of The Disco Biscuits, Lotus and more on Friday (5/6) at The Hall of MP. Tickets are on sale.

There will probably be more announced. What else?
