PWR BTTM to talk Safe Spaces at SXSW & other new 2017 speaker/session additions

“Safe Space to Rock: Combating Harassment in Music”

SXSW has announced more panels and speakers for its 2017 edition, which happens March 10 – 19 in Austin. Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe will be one of the keynote speakers, as will filmmaker Gareth Hudson (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). 750 Panel Sessions were just announced, including the “Safe Space to Rock” panel featuring PWR BTTM’s Liv Bruce and Ben Hopkins, as well as once titled “Saving Small Venues” that includes’ PopGun’s Rami Haykal, and Brooklyn Bowl/Capitol Theatre owner Peter Shapiro (ex-Wetlands).

SXSW – 2017 Featured Music Panel Sessions & Keynote additions

SXSW Keynote: Zane Lowe – A New Zealand-born radio DJ, live DJ, record producer and television presenter who, after moving to the UK in 1997, came to prominence presenting on XFM and MTV Europe before hosting a new global music show on BBC Radio 1 from 2003–2015. Lowe is now the Creative Director and L.A. Anchor for Beats 1, Apple’s first free global radio station broadcasting 24/7 to over 100 countries.

Arrow Straight: Success of Vans Warped Tour
The founders of Warped Tour discuss brand communities and social entrepreneurship as primary reasons for its longevity, both as a music festival and an entrepreneurial venture.
