Chicago rapper Queen Key followed up a run of mixtapes with her seven-song debut album Eat My Pussy, which features Tink, Dreezy, Cuban Doll, and King Louie. As for the title, she told Pitchfork:

[Naming my project Eat My Pussy] started off as a joke. But then I saw the reaction it was getting. A lot of girls was telling me like, “Oh my god I love it!” And this dude replied like, “I’ma name a project, Suck My Dick.” That made me go, “You know what? That’s exactly why I’m naming my project Eat My Pussy.” This the problem right here. The simple fact that a dude would even feel like he needs to name his project Suck My Dick. Only because mine is Eat My Pussy. So then I was like, “OK, maybe I should actually do this.” I liked both reactions, even the good and the bad.

Queen's lyrics can be funny, but she's no joke. She's an uncompromising artist, an increasingly skilled rapper, and she has no trouble covering a lot of ground across Eat My Pussy's seven tracks, from rowdy bangers like "Am I Wrong" and "My Way," to chiller jams like "Spenda Nite," to dark, ominous stuff like "Miss 100K." With its short length and no filler, her album's over and done with before you know it and always leaves you wanting more. If you haven't heard it yet, you can change that by streaming it below.

Queen also has a standout verse on QUARTERTHING, the great new album by fellow Chicago rapper Joey Purp, and she's opening Chicago rapper G Herbo's upcoming tour, which is also with Southside (who teamed with G Herbo for the new album Swervo).

The G Herbo/Queen Key/Southside tour includes a NYC show on October 23 at Irving Plaza (tickets). Before that, she plays All Def LA this Thursday (9/13). All dates and tickets for the whole tour HERE.
