Queen of Jeans singer Miriam Devora has a soaring, yearning voice that sounds like it could've come out of the '60s/'70s Laurel Canyon folk scene, and when she applies it to Queen of Jeans' more humble DIY/indie rock backdrop, it makes for thrilling music that has an old soul but also sounds entirely in the now. That's on full display on the band's great new single "Only Obvious To You," which will appear on their new album If you’re not afraid, I’m not afraid (due next week via Topshelf) and comes with a video shot on an iPhone at Philadelphia Pride this year. "With the video, we wanted to showcase the LGBTQIAP+ community because that's our experience of love. It's not to say that our community experiences more or less of the pain of love - it's just that we experience the same amount as everyone else," says guitarist Mattie Glass.

As mentioned, Queen of Jeans are touring with From Indian Lakes in November and December, including a Brooklyn show at Rough Trade on November 16 (tickets). Ahead of that, Queen of Jeans have a few record release shows, including a Brooklyn date at Gold Sounds on September 7 (tickets). See all dates below.
