Quilt @ Mexican Summer Five - October, 2013
quilt

As discussed, Boston psych folk band Quilt are set to release a new album, Held in Splendor, on January 28 via Mexican Summer. You've already heard the first single, "Arctic Shark," and they've just revealed another track from the LP, "Tired & Buttered." The song strays a bit from their usual Summer of Love-style folk, adding in a driving beat and a rock edge, but they do still manage to keep it weird. You can stream it, along with the video for "Arctic Shark," below.

Quilt just wrapped up a few dates with Happy Jawbone, including a NYC show at Baby's All RIght last Friday (11/15), and they've now announced a full North American tour for 2014. That tour brings them back to NYC for a show on February 28 at Rough Trade. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (11/22) at noon.

We also caught Quilt in NYC in October for the Mexican Summer Five celebration (which Connan Mockasin played too). PIctures of their set from that show are in this post. They continue, along with the list of dates, stream, and video, below...
