Raybeez tribute in videos (ft. Quicksand, SOIA, Madball, NRSV members & more)

Yesterday (10/1), a tribute to Raybeez was held in Tompkins Square Park to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Warzone vocalist’s death. Warzone members got back together to play their old songs, joined by a ton of impressive guest vocalists from the NYHC family. Walter Schreifels (whose band Quicksand had played Irving Plaza the night before and then played Warsaw after the Raybeez tribute) opened the tribute with a solo-acoustic performance of his song “Open Letter.” Later on, Warzone were joined by Walter’s former Gorilla Biscuits bandmate Civ and Sick Of It All‘s Lou Koller for “As One” and a cover of 7Seconds’ “Young Till I Die.” Original Warzone singer Tommy Rat came out for “Take A Stand.” Dean & Mike of No Redeeming Social Value came out for “The Sound of Revolution.” Madball‘s Freddy Cricien was on hand too, as were many others. Check out a bunch of videos and some more pics from the show below.

The Raybeez tribute set was opened by Kill Your Idols, Shutdown, Regulate and Fireburn, the band led by Israel Joseph I (whose former Bad Brains bandmate Dr. Know was in the audience and is pictured below).
