Real Estate released their fifth album (and one of their most enjoyable yet), The Main Thing, on Friday, and they embark on a spring tour supporting it in April. Before that, they'll celebrate the release of The Main Thing with a "stripped back performance," Q&A, and signing in Brooklyn at Rough Trade on March 4. Attendance is free with the purchase of the record, and it isn't your only chance to see Real Estate in NYC on Wednesday, either. "We wanted to tour our favorite record stores," they write, "but 3 of them don’t exist anymore, so we’ll be playing outside of their old locations. It’s THE OUTSTORE THING."

They'll be stopping outside the former locations of Other Music (15 E 4th St), Rocks In Your Head (157 Prince St), and Kim's Video (124 1st Ave) before heading to Brooklyn for their Rough Trade in-store.

This comes after they played another nearby record store, Fords NJ's Vintage Vinyl, on Saturday; watch video of that performance below.

Real Estate's tour hits NYC again for a show at SummerStage in Central Park on July 29, with fellow NJ natives Sharon Van Etten and Grace Ives. Tickets are still on sale.

UPDATE: Real Estate have also added an additional NYC-area show at NJ's Asbury Lanes on July 31. Tickets go on sale Friday March 6 at 10 AM.
