Record Store Day 2020 postponed again, is now 3 events in August, September & October

The 2020 edition of Record Store Day was originally supposed to have happened April 18, but the coronavirus pandemic pushed it to June 20. Now, they’ve postponed it again and have changed up how they’re going to do it in the process. Record Store Day will now happen over three “special, properly distanced” Saturdays: August 29, September 26 and October 24. They’re calling them “drops” and this year’s slate of exclusive Record Store Day releases will be divvied up between those three dates. This is certainly good news for record stores that have been hurting through COVID-19 lockdown. They’re still working out the details of that part but will release the new list on June 1.

Record Store Day is also still planning to hold its RSD Black Friday celebration on November 27.
