Corrosion of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin has passed away at the age of 53, according to the band who posted the following: "It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a friend, a brother and pioneer. Reed you are loved and always will be. Lets all take a moment..."

Reed was the influential punk-turned-sludge band's original and long-running drummer, though he has been suffering from health issues in recent years. Rest in Peace, Reed. Your legend lives on.

This news comes just days after Cynic/Death drummer Sean Reinert passed away, a week after the death of NYHC drummer Vinnie Value, and about three weeks since the death of Rush drummer Neil Peart.

Several artists have paid tribute to Reed, including members of Megadeth, Faith No More, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and more.
