Riot Fest announced My Chemical Romance as a 2020 headliner back in January, but since then we hadn't heard any updates about the status of the festival for this year, or its lineup. Now they've announced that, as you likely expected, they'll be taking 2020 off because of coronavirus. They'll be back in 2021, though, at Chicago's Douglas Park on September 17, 18, and 19, plus a "preview party" on September 16. Three-day passes are on sale now.

My Chem are still on as 2021 headliners, and they'll be joined by The Smashing Pumpkins, Run the Jewels, and Pixies. The rest of the new first wave lineup includes Coheed and Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, Lupe Fiasco (performing The Cool), Vic Mensa, Gogol Bordello, Circle Jerks, Thrice, Circa Survive, Jawbox, Les Savy Fav, Best Coast, L7, PUP, Living Colour, Big Freedia, Beach Bunny, Alex G, Thursday, Saves the Day, Fishbone, Fucked Up, White Lung, Beach Goons, Radkey, Holy Fawn, Chubby and the Gang, and more. See it in full on the flyer below.

Stay tuned for the second and final lineup waves to be announced.

If you bought a 2020 ticket but can't go in 2021, you have until July 16, 2020 to request a refund.

While there's no Riot Fest to go to this summer, you can at least make it look like you're there with our festival zoom backgrounds.
