The free Rock Steady Crew 40th Anniversary show at Central Park SummerStage on Sunday, July 30 is now a tribute to Prodigy who died in June. It's being headlined by what's being billed as Mobb Deep (Tribute to Prodigy). Havoc, who was Prodigy's partner in Mobb Deep is also billed with his own set, plus performances from MC Lyte, and MC EIHT with DJ Premier, Smoovth, Napoleon da Legend, Haddy Racks, along with DJs Tony Touch, JS-1, DV One, Kevy Kev, and Leva57. This is a free show, starting at 2 PM.

The day before (7/29) at Bowery Ballroom there's "The Red Bull BC One New York Cypher at the Rock Steady Crew 40th Anniversary" which is an afternoon event with host Grand Master Caz, DJ performances by Skeme Richards, DV One and Kaotic Blaze, and a performance by Fat Joe. It's part of the Red Bull BC One, "the most important one-on-one B-Boy competition in the world.":

The winner of this New York City qualifying cypher will earn the chance to compete for the last open spot in the BC One World Finals in Amsterdam, just days before the hugely anticipated World Final gets broadcast to the world.
