Florida's Rod Wave released one of the year's best rap albums with Ghetto Gospel, though he's not exactly a rapper. If you're unfamiliar, he kinda sounds like a soul singer version of Kevin Gates, and Gates actually took Rod under his wing, executive produced Ghetto Gospel, and rapped on two songs on it. It's an excellent introduction to Rod Wave, and the best project Gates has worked on in a while. If you haven't heard it, you can stream it and watch the video for his even newer non-album single "Dark Clouds" below.

Rod recently wrapped up a tour supporting Kevin Gates, and it looks like he's gearing up for headlining shows. So far, he announced that he's headlining NYC's Webster Hall on March 17. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (12/20) at 10 AM.

He's also opening for Lil Baby in DC on January 23. These appear to be the only dates he has announced so far, but more announcements are probably on the way so stay tuned.
