Melbourne, Australia’s Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have signed with Sub Pop and will release a self-titled EP for the label on March 10. The five-piece make sparkling, literate guitar pop in a post-Smiths kind of way and you can listen to “French Press” and watch the video for “Julie’s Place,” both from the EP, below.

The band will be opening a few shows for Whitney in Australia this week, and will be in the U.S. for SXSW, including a FREE BrooklynVegan and Sound on Sound Fest day party at Cheer Up Charlies Friday, March 17. After that, they have an opening slot on Tennis’ upcoming tour, including their two NYC shows at Bowery Ballroom on March 21 & 22 (tickets). After that, they’ll play Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium on March 23 (details TBA). UPDATE: With Shea Stadium temporarily closed again, the March 23 show has been moved to Baby’s All Right. Baked and Drawing Boards open, and tickets are on sale. All dates are listed below.
