Record Store Day 2019 is Saturday, April 13 and Brooklyn’s Rough Trade, as usual, is making a big to-do, with free performances, signings and other stuff in addition to stocking lots and lots of RSD19 exclusive titles. Playing live will be Steve Gunn, TEEN, Cochemea, Harkin, and Elijah Wolf. Also on hand for signings will be Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett, and David J of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets.

Coyne will also be there to premiere a new immersive installation at Rough Trade centered around The Flaming Lips‘s new album, The Kings Mouth, which features narration from Mick Jones of The Clash/BAD. The album will be out exclusively on Record Store Day and then won’t get a full release (apparently in a different form) till July.

There’s more: The Bongos’ Richard Barone will moderate a panel titled “Rediscovering Ecstacy: Recording with Lou Reed,” more details to come.

While there is always a giant line at Rough Trade on Record Store Day, the line is only for people wanting to buy the exclusive titles (you can see what the store getting in here). If you just want to see the bands or attend the panel discussion, you can just walk in and, again, it’s free. Rough Trade opens at 9 AM on Record Store Day and performances start at noon. More details here, and Rough Trade will be announcing more RSD19 performers and events next week.
