RSVP is open for the free Deerhunter show at House of Vans Brooklyn (8/18), and openers (curated by Deerhunter) have been announced. They're both very awesome and very different: Chicago experimental singer/songwriter Circuit des Yeux (aka Haley Fohr) and NYC jazz/hip hop collective Standing on the Corner. RSVP is required, but admission is first come, first served, so get there on time!

Earlier this year, Deerhunter toured and released a limited edition cassette with 10 new songs, and they also have a new Cate Le Bon-produced album in the works. At their last NYC show earlier this year, they brought Animal Collective on stage for a surprise improvisational jam.

The Deerhunter show at House of Vans Brooklyn is the second to last show before the venue closes for good. The last show is August 24 with headliners Interpol (who had Deerhunter open for them when they played Turn on the Bright Lights at Forest Hills Stadium last year). Interpol also headline MSG in February 2019.

As for Circuit des Yeux, she has other upcoming tour dates, including a performance of a live score to the 1923 silent film Salomé at Brooklyn's National Sawdust on 8/19, one day after the Deerhunter show (tickets).

Standing on the Corner also have a few more cool NYC shows coming up: opening for jazz legend Alan Braufman at National Sawdust on 8/3 (tickets), Warm Up at MoMA PS1 on 8/11 (tickets), and Pitchfork's OctFest on Governors Island in September.
