RSVP open for Slowdive at House of Vans; openers announced

RSVP for the free Slowdive show at House of Vans Brooklyn on June 30 opens today. Headliners are picking the openers for this season’s shows at House of Vans, and openers for Slowdive are local bands Farrows and Vorhees. Slowdive recently remixed Vorhees, and Simon Scott said:

After hearing Black Horse Pike by Vorhees late last year it quickly became a favourite track of ours by a very promising fresh artist from New York! We jumped at the chance to remix this track and aimed to compliment the heart-breaking melody and the propelling rhythmic properties of the track with some modular synths, treated acoustic guitars and some spliced up vocal manipulations that steer the song into a more David Lynch dream state. Vorhees is our favourite new American artist and we are excited to reshape this track and add fragments of Slowdive to the overall sound of it.

Slowdive’s show is part of the final House of Vans Brooklyn season in its current location. The season kicks off Thursday (6/14) with Action Bronson, and other shows include Against Me! Deerhunter, and Interpol. More info here.
