Rubella Ballet going on 40th anniversary US tour; singles comp out now

Yesterday, we mentioned Pittsburgh’s upcoming Skull Fest which has a very cool lineup including Poison Idea, Sheer Terror, Dropdead, Warwound, Rubella Ballet, and more. For Rubella Ballet, the UK anarcho-punk/post-punk band that Punk Globe‘s Tyler Vile once described as “the band who bridged the gaps between the Sex Pistols, X-Ray Spex, and Crass,” that’s the first date of the US leg of their 40th anniversary tour.

The tour includes a Brooklyn show on August 22 at Brooklyn Bazaar with direct support from rising local staples Haram plus Blu Anxiety, Wisteria, and Miedo. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

Rubella Ballet recently released the digitally remixed and remastered singles compilation Day Glo Daze, which includes all of their singles from 1979 to date. If you’re unfamiliar with the group, but you like the aforementioned Sex Pistols, X-Ray Spex, and Crass (or newer bands like Downtown Boys and Priests), this comp is a good place to start. Check it out below.
