Run Forever releasing a 7" ahead of new album (listen)

by Andrew Sacher

Run Forever

Last time we heard from Pittsburgh indie rockers Run Forever, it was their 2014 split with Adventures, and now they have a new three-song 7″ single, Big Vacation, coming July 10 via No Sleep (pre-order) ahead of a TBA full length. We’ve got the premiere of the title track, which opens like a stripped-down jangly version of Nirvana’s “Serve the Servants” before heading in the mope-rock direction of the newest Tigers Jaw and Title Fight albums. Those bummer vibes are reflected in the song’s content too. Singer Anthony Heubel tells us:

I tried for a really long time to be the guy that loves everyone, the 24/7 good mood, always happy to see you type. Just an optimistic person that inspires people through his seemingly endless amount of optimism through trying times. I have finally accepted that I will never be that person. I have always loved songs that poke fun at the human experience, mundane life styles, American culture, whatever you want to call it. I really like to put those things under a microscope and frame songs in that way. Big Vacation is a song about looking around you and feeling like everyone is trying to sell you something to make you’re life better, or more personalized or more convenient.
