Speedy Ortiz singer/guitarist Sadie Dupuis released Slugger, her enjoyable solo debut as Sad13 earlier this year and if you haven’t checked that out yet you can stream it below. She also just released a video for “Get a Yes,” which was shot at Silent Barn and mixes the song’s  pro-consent message with a little teen steam. You can watch that below, too.

Sad13’s tour with Vagabon wraps up this week, and the penultimate date is Tuesday (12/13) at Baby’s All Right with Emily Reo, and Told Slant also on the bill. Tickets are still available but if you’d like to go for free we’re giving away a pair. For your chance to win either comment in this post below or tweet “Hoping to win tix to see @Sad13 at BabysAllRight from BrooklynVegan http://bit.ly/2hxsfao”. Winner will be chosen at random.

Meanwhile, Sadie was nice enough to send us her list of favorite records of the year, but she didn’t stop at 10, giving us her Top 35 of 2016 which includes records by Rihanna, Xenia Rubinos, Weaves, Solange, Helado Negro, and more. Says Sadie:

N.B. I hate numbers and this is probably not in a true order. Hon. mentions: Tove Lo’s “Cool Girl” and Dreezy‘s “Wasted,” two songs I listened to more than, like, any other songs this year; the entirely excellent Field Mouse record which I felt obligated to exclude since I sing harmonies on one song; Melkbelly‘s “Elk Mountain” 7″.

Don’t worry about the order so much and check out her list below.
