SAVAK releasing debut LP 'Best of Luck in Future Endeavors' in May (listen to "Reaction"), playing SXSW & other dates

SAVAK

SAVAK, the band featuring half of Obits (and members of The Make Up/Pharmicists, Holy Fuck, The Cops and more) will release their debut album, Best of Luck in Future Endeavors, on May 27 via Comedy Minus One. The band produced the album with Geoff Sanoff and old pal Rick Froberg (Obits, Hot Snakes) did the artwork. Pre-oders of the limited-edition vinyl (with die-cut, silk-screened sleeves) are available now.

The first single is anthemic stormer “Reaction,” which features Michael Jaworski on vocals (Sohrab from Obits is the band’s other singer/guitarist). It premieres in this post and you can stream it below:

The band also have a single coming out via Unblinking Ear, so stay tuned for details on that.

SAVAK, which is now a six-piece, will be heading to Austin for SXSW next week, and then have a few East Coast shows later this spring. They’ll open for Algiers at Le Poisson Rouge on April 13 which also features a screening of Brendan Canty & Christoph Green’s film Burn to Shine 6: Atlanta. Tickets for that show are on sale now. The band will also open for Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds at The Bell House on May 11 (tickets).

There is also the Best of Luck in Future Endeavors release show which happens at Shea Stadium on May 27. The openers are all friends of the band: Sunwolf (ft. Jerry Busher of late-period Fugazi/French Toast), Super Silver Haze (ft. Brendan Canty of Fugazi whose brother, James, is in SAVAK), and Puff Pieces. Tickets are on sale.

All dates are listed, along with album art, tracklist, and a poster for their Texas shows, below.
