Nashville's Savoy Motel, which features Cheap Time's Jeffrey Novak and members of Heavy Cream, have made a video for "Sorry People" which is off their debut album that's out October 21 via What's Your Rupture. I have previously described the band as "a weird sonic world that has one foot in glittery glam, and the other in minimal, twitchy post-punk" but the band have this to say:

Savoy Motel are not a post-punk band or a retro glam revival group. We aren't trying to revive anything. Savoy Motel play southern rock in a modern tradition. We try to create music that is all-inclusive escapism, and we like our videos to match the vibe.

Southern rock that prominently features the Maestro Rhythm King drum machine, that is. As for the video, it's terrific, and definitely matches the song's vibe with a little line-dancing, excellent use of split screen, and a cameo by a chicken. You can watch that below.

Savoy Motel are currently on tour with Dandy Warhols but when those shows are over they'll be out on their own in Novmeber, including two NYC shows: November 10 at Market Hotel with Natural Child (canceled) and November 11 at Union Pool.with Ian Svenonious's ESCAPE-ISM and The SuevesTickets for Union Pool are on sale now.

UPDATE: Savoy Motel have added a free in-store on Novmember 10 at Academy Records in Brooklyn. 6:30 PM. Flyer is below.
