Shabazz Palaces announce new album & tour, share "Shine A Light"

Experimental rap group Shabazz Palaces, led by Butterfly of Digable Planets, have announced the followup to 2014’s Lese Majesty. It’s called Quazarz: Born On A Gangster Star and the first single is the highly psychedelic “Shine A Light,” which features Thaddillac. Trip out with the lyric video (directed by Cristina T. Quazarz also features Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, bass wiz Thundercat, and more. It drops on July 14 via Sub Pop. That’s the artwork above and the tracklist is below.

Shabazz have also announced a tour, which which begins at Seattle’s Upstream Music Fest in May and ends at Chicago’s Riot Fest in September.

The tour hits Brooklyn on September 6 at Warsaw. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (4/28) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.

Digable Planets are also touring this year, including a free SummerStage show in Red Hook’s Coffey Park on June 21.
