Shakira pulls merch with Nazi-resembling symbol; Live Nation apologizes
Last week, we noticed that Shakira was selling an El Dorado World Tour necklace with the ancient Black Sun symbol, a symbol that was co-opted by The SS during the Nazi regime. It got a lot of fans riled up, and Shakira has since pulled the necklace from her webstore. Live Nation, who say they designed the necklace, also apologized for it and said the design “was based on Pre-Columbian imagery.” Here are their tweets:

some fans have expressed concern that the design bears an unintentional resemblance to Neo-Nazi imagery. We sincerely apologize for this inadvertent similarity and have permanently pulled the item from the tour collection. 2/
