Sheer Terror

Sheer Terror, NRSV, Murphy's Law, Tommy Stinson & more upcoming punk shows in NYC

Like they’ve done before, NYHC vets Sheer Terror will set sail aboard a Rocks Off Cruise on August 21. They’re boarding The Jewel and departing from Skyport Marina – East 23rd Street & FDR Drive (East side). Tickets are on sale now.

Sooner than that, Sheer Terror (I mean, “Bulldog International”) are performing their album Just Can’t Hate Enough in its entirety on July 8 at Grand Victory with the reunited Billy Club Sandwich and No Parole. Tickets are on sale.

Last year’s Sheer Terror cruise was opened by No Redeeming Social Value, who next play NYC on July 15 at Grand Victory, which closes at the end of July. That show is with The Krays, Examine and We All Die. Tickets are on sale.

MUCH sooner at Grand Victory, you can see Murphy’s Law playing the venue this Friday (6/24) with M-13, Nothing But Enemies and Agitator. Tickets are on sale. Murphy’s Law also open Sick Of It All‘s 30th anniversary show at Webster Hall in July (tickets).

While we’re talking about punk shows in NYC, here’s a few more: UK vets The Vibrators, whose only original member is drummer John ‘Eddie’ Edwards, will play a 40th anniversary show on October 1 at The Bowery Electric with Swampboots. Tickets are on sale.

Tommy Stinson of The Replacements is playing Bowery Electric on July 24 with Frankie Lee. Tickets go on sale Friday (6/24) at 10 AM.

If you’re a Replacements fan, don’t forget that Beach Slang are covering Pleased to Meet Me in full at Knitting Factory on July 12 (tickets). Beach Slang also play one of the two Bouncing Souls shows in Asbury Park. They’re also opening a date of the Descendents tour, but not the NYC show (which is with Fucked Up).

Pennywise (yeah yeah) are heading out on a tour with Strung Out and playing 1995’s About Time in full. The tour hits NYC on October 20 at Irving Plaza. Tickets go on sale Friday (6/24) at 10 AM and they’re on a few presales now. All dates are listed HERE.

California’s Asian Man/Lauren Records-signed pop punks Winter Break are touring in July and playing two NYC shows. One is opening the Sunnyvale (7/19) show on the Jeff Rosenstock / The Sidekicks tour (tickets), and the other is on July 17 at Aviv with MakeWar, Katie Ellen (ex-Chumped), Couple Hundo and Hiccup (more info). All dates are listed HERE.

Katie Ellen and Couple Hundo also team up sooner than that for a show at Suburbia on July 1 with Signals Midwest and Broadcaster. More info here.

Also don’t forget that (Black) FLAG are about to bring their tour to NYC on Tuesday (6/28) at Gramercy Theatre with War on Women and The Dirty Nil (tickets).

And lastly, if you’re into the bands mentioned in this post, you may want to stream the new DIrect Hit! album.
