Shigeto releasing a new LP, touring w/ Beacon (dates, stream)

Ann Arbor beatmaker Shigeto (aka Zach Saginaw) is set to release his new album, No Better Time Than Now, on August 20 via Ghostly. Album single “Detroit Part 1,” is Shigeto’s typical nu-jazz-meets-hip-hop style, but the other cut he’s released, “Ringleader,” is new ground for him. Sparkling and multi-layered, the track that feels fuller and more beautiful than most of his work to date. You can check out “Detroit Part 1” below and listen to “Ringleader” over at NPR. In support of the new album, Shigeto will be heading out on a co-headlining tour with Ghostly labelmates Beacon. Another Ghostly artist, Heathered Pearls (who plays a collaborative set with Dirty Beaches in NYC soon) will be joining them as a support act for the first North American leg, which includes a NYC show happening on August 31 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for that show are on AmEx presale now and general on-sale begins Friday (6/21) at noon.
