Shy Glizzy drops 'Quiet Storm' mixtape, playing SOB's

DC rapper Shy Glizzy has been picking up buzz for a while now, and he’s been having a good year thanks to the success of his collab with fellow DC rapper GoldLink, “Crew.” Today, Glizzy kept the momentum going with the release of the Quiet Storm mixtape. It features Trey Songz, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Dave East and others, plus production from Zaytoven, Cardo, TM88, and others. The mixtape does a killer job of showing off Glizzy’s melodic vulnerable side as well as his hard-hitting boast-filled side. It’s worth a listen, and you can check it out by streaming the whole thing below. Video for “Take Me Away” is below too.

Glizzy will be in NYC for the next ‘Hot 97 Who’s Next?’ show at SOB’s on December 18. It’s a pretty stacked bill, also featuring Rich the Kid, Moneybagg Yo, King Ceazar, Corey Finesse, Lil Boost, Shani Kulture and DJ Juanyto. Tickets are on sale. It’s the only live date that we’re currently aware of, but more may be TBA.
