Sigur Ros had been live streaming a looped video teasing something coming today at 21.00 GMT (5 PM EST), with text that reads "sigurrosrouteone begins 21.00 GMT." The wait is finally over. They're broadcasting a 24-hour 'Slow TV' trip around Iceland's coastal ring road, Route 1 in celebration of the Summer Solstice/the longest day of the year. The footage is accompanied with a soundtrack created with the Bronze app, based around their new song “Óveður.”

"In a day and age of instant gratification and everything moving so fast, we wanted to do the exact opposite," says Sigur Rós's Jónsi Birgisson. Here's more info via press release: "Driving anti-clockwise round the island, the journey will pass by many of the country's most notable landmarks, including Vatnajökull, Europe's largest ice-sheet; the glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón; as well as the East Fjords and the desolate black sands of Möðrudalur." Watch the live stream below.

As mentioned, they have tour dates coming up, including three sold out NYC shows in October. All dates are listed below.
