Sigur Ros played Forest Hills Stadium (pics, setlist)
Sigur Ros wrapped up their tour with a Forest Hills Stadium show in Queens this past Saturday (6/17). Like at the Chicago show (and most other dates), they did two career-spanning sets as a trio, with no backing string section and no opener. There was a little rain threatening to dampen the outdoor show at first, but it let up quickly and it ended up being a wonderful night to see them. The setlist in NYC was very similar to Chicago, with “Glosoli,” “Saeglopur,” “Ny Batteri,” “Vaka,” “Festival, “Kveikur,” and more favorites from the early days through 2013’s Kveikur. Sigur Ros are giving their seminal breakthrough album Ágætis byrjun an expanded box set reissue later this year.
