Sinkane released new EP to benefit Charlottesville, expands tour

Sinkane (who recently played NYC’s Afropunk and Virginia’s Lockn’) has announced a new EP, titled Berlin Sessions, which contains expanded versions of songs from his most recent album Life & Livin’ It, as well as a rework of “Yacha,” a track from his 2014 record Mean Love, all performed by his excellent live band. All proceeds from the EP will be donated towards the Southern Law Poverty Center in wake of the recent horrific events in Charlottesville, VA. Sinkane released a statement about the EP via Facebook:

Sinkane is comprised of 6 people from different walks of life. We are a colorful band that believes in peace, love and hope. As citizens of the USA we are here to show the world that our country is a welcoming and accepting one. Where people take pride in diversity and learn from each other’s differences. As citizens of the world we are here to promote unity. We firmly condemn Nazism, White Supremacy, Islamophobia, Anti Semitism, Xenophobia, and hate of all kind.

You can stream and purchase the album below via Bandcamp.

Sinkane is currently embarking on a North American tour, some of that is opening for jam band Umphrey’s Mcgee, including their date at The Capitol Theatre on October 20 (tickets). He’s also just announced a new NYC-area headlining show at Brooklyn Bowl on October 19. Punk outfit The Kominas are tapped to open. Tickets are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
