Ski Lodge ready new single "Secure" (listen) playing Brooklyn this weekend

Brooklyn indie pop band Ski Lodge have been somewhat quiet of late, but are set to release new single “Secure” which is out on Friday. Like 2015’s “Trust” single, this pulls them further into synthpop territory — Andrew Marr’s croon at times sounds like OMD’s Andy McCluskey and with a New Order-y guitar part it’s like the entire Pretty in Pink soundtrack rolled into one. “This song for me is a about internal struggle and uncertainty and also about trying to convince someone else that there’s something between you and that person, even though both of you don’t want to acknowledge it,” says Marr. “I wanted it to feel like a pop song but also have the production and instrumentation make it feel dark and restless.” The song premieres in this post and you can listen below.

Ski Lodge play NYC this week, opening for Middle Kids at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday (9/16). Tickets are on sale.
