Sleaford Mods tell us about what they're listening to during COVID-19 lockdown

We’ve been asking artists what they’ve been listening to while stuck at home in COVID-19 isolation, and UK duo Sleaford Mods were nice enough to make us a playlist. Here’s lead shouter Jason Williamson highlighting a few of his picks from the 11-song playlist:

Really enjoying Aldous Harding, Billy Nomates and BbyMutha currently. Love Bbymutha’s sheet raps, very fine in their place on the beat, her accent bends the word ‘bitch’ so good. Beats are interesting too. iPhone beats almost. Cheap, trebly and rough.Billy Nomates hails from Leicester in England but currently lives in Southampton I think. Totally loving her work. ‘No’is a masterpiece. Not too dissimilar to us really.

Bang into singer/songwriters at the minute oddly. Aldous Harding and Alex Cameron have really taken my attention and placed it in a new musical seat. London’s S O Large with ‘Jerkman’. This is wicked. Warmduscher too, their new album Tainted Lunch is really good.

Listen to Sleaford Mods’ Quarantine Playlist, which also includes tracks by Kate Tempest, Loose Meat, Conway the Machine and more, below.

Meanwhile, Sleaford Mods release new album All That Glue this Friday via Rough Trade. It’s a double album that compiles singles, album tracks, rarities and new songs from throughout the last seven years of their career. You can watch the fantastic video for the album’s new single, “Second,” which stars Game of Thrones‘ Kate Dickie, below.
