Sleater-Kinney are capping off a very busy comeback year with five sold-out NYC shows. The biggest two of those happened over the weekend, playing Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Saturday (12/12) and Manhattan’s Terminal 5 on Sunday (12/13). In addition to their own songs, both night’s featured covers. At Kings they paid tribute to both the Ramones and the holiday season by performing “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Wanna Fight Tonight).” Then last night at T5, Sleater-Kinney covered The B-52s’ “Rock Lobster” and brought out Carrie Brownstein’s Portlandia pal Fred Armisen to sing the the parts of another Fred (Schneider). The five-show run continues tonight (12/14) at Irving Plaza, and then hits Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday (12/15) and finally christens the renovated Market Hotel with its first real show back on Wednesday.
