Sleater-Kinney share new song "Animal"; tour starts next week

Sleater-Kinney released new album The Center Won’t Hold over the summer and now here’s a brand new song, “Animal.” It was recorded during the sessions for the album, and — like the rest of the album — features drummer Janet Weiss (who left the group before the album came out). For those who were unsure about the sleek nature of The Center Won’t Hold, “Animal” has that classic Sleater-Kinney feel. “‘ANIMAL’ is a song about rebellion, retaliation and rage. It is a song about letting go of all politeness and filters and letting the ‘animal’ side speak,” say the band. “The vocals for this song were recorded in St. Vincent’s home studio, a perfect place to unleash a voice like this.” Watch the lyric video below.

With new drummer Angie Boylan, Sleater-Kinney embark on their North American tour next week and play NYC later this month at Kings Theatre on 10/30 and Hammerstein Ballroom on 10/31. Tickets are still available and all tour dates are listed below.
