Slim Twig signed to DFA, reissued 'A Hound at the Hem,' touring, playing 2 NYC shows w/ U.S. Girls (dates, streams)

If the DFA Winter Workout isn’t enough DFA for you in January, you can catch new signee Slim Twig as well, who will be playing two NYC shows this month as part of a short North American tour, playing Palisades on January 17 and Cake Shop on January 18. In October, DFA reissued his 2012 album, A Hound at the Hem, which is definitely not a typical pick for the label, more avant-garde orchestral pop than four-on-the-floor disco action. (But if you love Bowie’s Berlin period, definitely give it a spin.) You can stream the album via Rdio and check out the video for “Hover on a Sliver,” below.

Both NYC shows are with U.S. Girls and the 1/17 Palisades date is also with Irish trio Girl Band (one of a few NYC shows they’re playing), and Bottoms. Tickets are still available (no advance for Cake Shop).
