Slingshot Dakota at The Studio at Webster Hall in October (more by Mimi Hong)

Two Pennsylvania DIY pop bands, Bethlehem's Slingshot Dakota and Scranton's Petal (fronted by Kiley Lotz with members of Tigers Jaw), will be heading out on a short Northeast tour together this week. It begins in Philly on Thursday (12/4) and hits NYC on Saturday (12/6) at Suburbia (330 Melrose in Brooklyn). The Suburbia show is headlined by hardcore ragers Ampere (ex-Orchid) who make this an excellent and very diverse bill. Clean Girls open. Tix are $5 at door. Tour flyer with all dates and Suburbia show flyer below.

Slingshot Dakota drummer Tom Patterson is also in heavy psych band Fog Cult, who just put out a self-titled EP last week. You can stream that below. Slingshot also just put out a split with Pet Symmetry that features them covering "Rise" by the reunited Rainer Maria. You can also stream that (via Absolute Punk) below.

Petal has a full length coming in 2015 via Run for Cover (details TBA). Meanwhile, stream their 2013 EP and Ampere's latest release, this year's Like Shadows, below...
