Sloan announce new LP, '12', and tour (listen to "The Day Will Be Mine")

Canadian rock greats Sloan are back with new album, 12, which will be released in April 6 via YepRoc. Says bassist Chris Murphy, dryly, “I guess with the album title, we are showing off the fact the we have 12 records.” That’s 12 albums featuring the same four-man, four-singer-songwriters lineup (no mean feat). You can listen to the first single, “The Day Will Be Mine,” which is written and sung by guitarist Patrick Pentland, below.

Pre-order options for 12 include a nifty looking Sloan watch in their new retro-bubblegum logo. The band have also announced North American tour dates for the spring, including an NYC stop at Bowery Ballroom on May 10. Tickets for that show are go on sale Friday, February 9 at noon.
