When Snail Mail was announced as opener for Interpol's Madison Square Garden show, it may have seemed like a huge venue for the young artist, but six months later it seems less of a stretch. She's been on the rise and on the road since releasing her Matador debut last year and just played her two biggest headlining NYC shows to date: Brooklyn Steel on Wednesday (7/31) and Webster Hall on Thursday (8/1). All that touring and playing festivals have made Lindsey Jordan a much more confident performer and it was immediately evident at Snail Mail's Brooklyn Steel show. The crowd was with her the whole show, which ended with the cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" that she's been doing on this tour. She also brought out Clairo, who had just opened for Khalid at Madison Square Garden, to sing on "Thinning." (They sang together at Pitchfork fest, too.) You can watch video of "Thinning" from Brooklyn Steel, and check out the setlist, below.

Both Brooklyn Steel and Webster Hall were with the reunited Duster, who recently released a box set via Numero Group and a new instrumental (and have been teasing the prospect of more), and SASAMI. Pictures from the whole night at Brooklyn Steel are in the gallery above.

Duster play Asbury Park on Sunday and will be back in NYC to play Pitchfork's music-and-beer festival Octfest, which happens October 19 at Knockdown Center also has Parquet Courts, Mogwai, Dungen and more on the bill (tickets just went on sale).
