Swedish progressive metal supergroup Soen (whose current lineup features ex-members of Opeth, Amon Amarth, Willowtree, and more) are releasing their fourth album Lotus on February 1 via Silver Lining Music (pre-order). It's their first with new lead guitarist Cody Ford, and it was produced by David Castillo and Iñaki Marconi. We're premiering the title track along with its video. Drummer Martin Lopez (who was also in Opeth for two decades) says, "Lotus is a summoning of like-minded people that have reached that turning point in their lives where they have had enough. Enough of meaningless and shallow societies and their expected standards. Only once you have liberated yourself from these fake ideals and leave all of that behind, one can be truly free." As for how the song sounds, it's among Soen's most atmospheric and clean-sounding material, and comes with a lengthy guitar solo that you can truly call "epic." If you're unfamiliar with Soen, fans of Tool and Porcupine Tree should check this out. Listen and watch the animated video below.

Soen are also touring Europe in March/April with Wheel and Ghost Iris, and those dates are listed below.
