Soft Black, the '00s-era band of Vincent Cacchione (who would go on to form Caged Animals), are back in action after more than a decade away, with plans for a new album out in September. (The original lineup of the band also included DIIV's Cole Smith and Friends' Matthew Molnar.) The first single is the pounding, fuzzy and dark-hued "Midas Tongue." "Midas Tongue is a character song I wrote aimed at an oppressive authority figure," Vin tells us. "I was imagining a more one-on-one struggle between youth and old age but after living through the Trump administration the song felt relevant to me in a whole new way."

The song premieres in this post and you can listen below.

Stay tuned for more details on the album.
