Sondre Lerche released new LP, gets remixed by Ice Choir (listen), on tour now

Sondre Lerche just released his new album Pleasure, that is at times his glossiest and at others his grittiest-sounding. He has entrusted one of the LP’s more rocking songs, “Violent Game,” to Kurt Feldman of Ice Choir who has, in turn, put his distinct spin on the song, remaking it into shiny Big ’80s Pop. No easy feat, it turns out. “The original was recorded live in the studio, so the tempo shifts and the sound leaks all over the place,” Sondre tells us. “So I imagine it was no joke making this remix work so well. I was such a huge fan of their song ‘Unprepared,’ and I thought Kurt might be up for the challenge of reimagining the song. And he was. The melody gets a new chord structure and a new outlook on life. I love it.” The remix makes its premiere in this post and you can listen to it and the original (and all of Pleasure), below.

Ice Choir will be joining Sondre at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, April 15 with Alexander Von Mehren, part of Sondre’s current tour. Tickets are still available and all tour dates are listed below.
