Sonic Youth are reissuing their live album Battery Park, NYC: July 4, 2008, making it available for the first time in 10 years (including for the first time on streaming services). It was originally released as a limited edition record you got by pre-ordering their 2009 album, The Eternal, so this will make the first time it's ever been a stand-alone release. It's out June 7 via Matador. The show was part of the free River to River Festival (and had The Feelies opening) and you can stream "Bull in the Heather" from it below.

Meanwhile, Rooftop Films is presenting Sonic Youth: NYC and Beyond on August 17 at Murmrr Theatre. It features a New York-specific collection of film and videos from the band's private archives, plus a Q&A with drummer Steve Shelley and archivist Aaron MullanTickets for that are on sale now.
