Sonic Youth have been digging through their extensive archives and posting rare releases on Bandcamp this year, and now they're getting into their video archives too. On Friday, July 10 at 3 PM ET, they'll screen their first-ever Portugal performance -- Live at Campo Pequeno Lisbon, Portugal July 14, 1993 -- via the Sonic Youth Youtube. Thurston Moore and Steve Shelley will both take part in the live chat while the video is playing.

That's the same show that was recorded for the Blastic Scene semi-official bootleg. You can watch the video on Friday and listen to Blastic Scene now, below.

Later on Friday, at 7 PM ET , Sonic Youth drummers Bob Bert and Steve Shelley will participate in a live Zoom chat about new documentary Desolation Center which features Sonic Youth (and Minutemen, Einstürzende Neubauten, Meat Puppets, and more). They'll talk with Desolation Center's Stuart Swezey and Mariska Leyssius, and the conversation is moderated by Scott Crawford, the director of Salad Days and the upcoming CREEM documentary. You'll be able to watch that on Friday, via YouTube, below as well.

If you haven't watched Desolation Center yet, it's a terrific film and is available to rent digitally via AppleTV, Amazon and other services. Read our review.

Need more Sonic Youth? They've got masks and other merch for Goo's 30th anniversary, and Thurston Moore has a new solo album on the way.
