Speedy / Hunters / Death by Art
Speedy Ortiz came through NYC for two shows earlier this month on their tour with Ex Hex, and once the tour ended they returned on Tuesday (11/11) for one of the last-ever shows at the soon-to-close Death by Audio, the same place they played their album release show in 2013 for their debut LP Major Arcana. For this show they were joined by their Exploding In Sound pals Palehound, as well as Hunters. It was a bigger room than the last time Speedy played... thanks to part of that middle wall being knocked down, and the Death by Art exhibit was open too. (Do check that out when you're there for a show.) We've got some pictures of that, as well as shots of all three bands in this post.
Last night's Death By Audio show (that we missed) was Pygmy Shrews, Satanic Cult (Mike Berdan Solo), Pleasure Industry and Lawsuits. Tonight (11/13) is headlined by a special guest (hint: It's Dan Deacon) with an interactive dance performance by Prince Rama, a set by Cloud Becomes Your Hand, and Mr. Transylvania. Ted Leo and Screaming Females showed up the other night. November 22nd is the venue's final night.
