Spoon's new album is titled 'Hot Thoughts,' out in March (on Matador?)

Things appear to be moving quickly in the world of Spoon. Following last weekend’s surprise show in Austin where they played four new songs, fan site Fuck Yeah Spoon notes that Britt Daniel and the band were just on SiriusXM show “Debatable” and they revealed that their new album is titled Hot Thoughts and will be out in March (one member said March 17 but others said they weren’t sure the exact date). As for who will be putting out the record, both Spoon and Matador Records posted the above image of a skull X-ray back in December. If it does come on Matador, that will mark a return for Spoon to the label that released the band’s Pixies-esque debut album, Telephono, and first EP. Stay tuned for more details.

Speaking of Spoon and March, the band also said they’ll play SXSW this year, as they often do. Spoon will be in NYC for Panorama in July.
