Spotlights Seismic

Spotlights releasing new LP 'Seismic' on Ipecac (stream a track)

Deftones-approved Brooklyn band Spotlights signed to Mike Patton’s Ipecac label and they’ll release the followup to their 2016 debut LP Tidals on the label this fall. It’s called Seismic, it comes out on October 6 (pre-order), and it was produce by Isis drummer Aaron Harris.

We’re premiering lead single “Learn To Breathe,” which has the band’s usual sludge/shoegaze blend intact but takes the sound in new directions. There’s a driving part that’s almost in Stooges territory and a crushing alt-metal part that isn’t too far removed from past tourmates Deftones. Listen below.

Spotlights are opening for the Melvins on a tour that starts in San Diego tonight (7/5). The tour hits NYC on August 3 at Irving Plaza and Asbury Park on August 5 at The Stone Pony (tickets).

Melvins’ new double album A Walk With Love and Death will be out this Friday (7/7) via Ipecac. All dates are listed below.
