St. Vincent directed a horror film & scored Kristen Stewart's directorial debut; both premiering at 2017 Sundance fest

St. Vincent will be all over the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, in a couple different capacities. Annie Clark, as she’s credited, is one of four writer-directors part of horror anthology XX, alongside Karyn Kusama, Roxanne Benjamin, Jovanka Vuckovic. The film stars Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool, Christina Kirk. The film is part of Sundance’s Midnight programming, and will be in theaters later in 2017.

Annie has also scored Kristen Stewart‘s short film Come Swim which she made as part of Refinery29’s female filmmaker-focused Shatterbox Anthology series. (Rumors abound they are dating.) “It’s kind of expressionistic, it’s pretty painterly,” Stewart told reporters during the New York Film Festival (via Indiewire). “I’m not hiding behind anything by doing a slightly avant garde first thing.”

You may also remember that St. Vincent performed at David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption earlier this year, though she is not one of the musicians appearing in his Twin Peaks reboot, due next year..
