St. Vincent, Foo Fighters, Mavis Staples, Beck & more covered Prince on Grammy tribute (watch)
Back in January, Usher, Sheila E, and FKA twigs paid tribute to Prince at the 2020 Grammys with a medley of "Little Red Corvette," "When Doves Cry" and "Kiss." That was a prelude to the All-Star Grammy Tribute to Prince, Let's Go Crazy, that was filmed days later at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and which premiered on CBS last night. Sheila E served as bandleader for the night and performed her Prince-written hit, "The Glamorous Life" as well as "America" and "Free." That all-star lineup included The Bangles' Susanna Hoffs (doing the band's first hit, "Manic Monday," which Prince penned), St. Vincent (playing "Controversy"), H.E.R. ("The Beautiful Ones," and "Let's Go Crazy" with Gary Clark Jr., who did "The Cross"), Beck ("Raspberry Beret"), Miguel ("I Would Die 4 U"), Mavis Staples ("Purple Rain"), Foo Fighters ("Darling Nikki"), John Legend ("Nothing Compares 2 U"), Common ("Sign O' The Times"), Juanes ("1999"), Chris Martin and Susanna Hoffs ("Manic Monday"), and Earth, Wind & Fire ("Adore").
