it’s the first time i’ve seen annie perform in an outfit that wasn’t all black. she opened with “marry me”, which was fitting since several guys professed their desire to propose matrimony to the fair annie. she continued with selections from “actor”, including “the strangers”, “black rainbow” and “actor out of work”. [sharock]

That pic and review are from St. Vincent‘s special “fan appreciation” show at the Bell House on June 25th. The gig came after a run of spring/early-summer shows that included Webster Hall on May 20th, Sasquatch Fest, Bonnaroo and an appearance on David Letterman.

St. Vincent is already back on the road. She plays a three-week European tour this July. She’ll be back for All Points West on August 1st, then has assorted shows planned (including MD Virgin Mobile Fest), which lead up to her big October North American tour with Andrew Bird (who’s played APW last year, and has many upcoming gigs, all below). There are no NYC shows on the St.Vincent/Andrew Bird schedule (yet?). The trip includes performances for one episode of the Austin City Limits TV show. Mark your calendar — their sets will be broadcast via “PBS stations nationwide on October 24th.”
