St. Vincent shares "Pills" from new album

St. Vincent‘s highly anticipated new album MASSEDUCTION comes out this week (10/13) via Loma Vista, and she has just revealed “Pills,” perhaps the album’s craziest song, ahead of the release. This one is stacked with impressive guests, including sax by Kamasi Washington, backing vocals by Jenny Lewis and Cara Delevingne (going as “Kid Monkey”), programming by TDE’s Sounwave, several contributions from the album’s producer, Jack Antonoff, and more. The song’s first half is a bouncy, quirky, electronics-fueled jam with a hook that muses on our society’s tendencies to solve all of our problems with pills, and the second half is a slower, more human-sounding section that almost sounds like an entirely different song but somehow still works. Again, it’s a very crazy song. Listen below.
